The music as well not as repetitive as many other crib toys, it goes for a long time before repeating the same things. The lights are SO CUTE and the nature sounds even help ME go to sleep. They sound very natural and not fake like those that make you dizzy for going over and over again on the same. My baby's 3 months old and for the first 2 months I had to rock him or nurse him to sleep. RECOMMENDED. he absolutely adores it and I do too. Since we got this all I have to do is put him down, turn the soother on and HE'S OUT. the sensor works just great he'll cry a little and it will turn on.
Luckily, my son started screaming for me and he was holding it on with his hands, otherwise it would have feel on the baby. Do not buy this crib player. I sure wish Leap Frog still made the Dreamscapes Soother, it is the BEST. This product is going back to Walmart today. It does not attach to the crib well. Before I could get my 10 month old out of the crib after a nap, my three old was playing with it, and the straps failed.
My favorite feature is the automatic turn on when the baby cries. We have used this soother everyday for 18 months. My daughter loves it, she is in a toddler bed now and she still turns on the music and projector.
My family loves this soother. There are also light settings that allow the lights to be turned off completely, which I find very beneficial during the day when my son takes his nap. We were looking at some toys in the baby aisle at the store, and he reached out to play with it. Our son is now 11 months old and he loves his soother more than ever now that he's developed the motor coordination to push the buttons on his own.The songs are cute and the nature sounds are relaxing.
It makes bedtime more pleasant for all of us. (That way, the batteries last longer. It has a 3, 5, and 10 minute setting and is sound activated. He gets to sleep fast so that his father and I can sleep, too. My son has figured out that if he kicks his mattress hard enough, the resultant sound will activate the soother. This soother has long been a part of my son's bedtime routine. It was our then-4-month-old son that picked it out.
In the 7 months we've had this, we've only had to change the batteries once and that was when the display batteries ran out). Everyone wins. We ended up buying it on a whim and have never regretted it. The lights and overhead projector are a plus, especially in a dark room.
I think this is because it is sound activated. If you buy rechargeable they will last 2 to 3 days. This thing will eat through batteries. Have to buy new ones at least once a week.
